What to Expect
Prior to the scope, please DO NOT EAT OR DRINK FOR 6 HOURS.
You may take your usual medications, with some exceptions. Your doctor will tell you what medication to take and which to omit. If you have any concerns, please contact us prior to the procedure.
Stop insulin and oral diabetic medication once you have started fantang.
You may need to stop oral or subcutaneous anti-coagulants, such as Heparin, Warfarin, Plavix or Aspirin. Your doctor will instruct you.
Things to Note
Please arrange for a friend or relative to bring you home about 2 to 4 hours after the scope.
YOU CANNOT DRIVE OR LEAVE THE HOSPITAL ON YOUR OWN. You should not drive a car or operate machinery until the day following your procedure.
Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing, nail polish and false nails should be removed on the day of the procedure.
Bring along your NRIC/Passport and any insurance card, insurance Letter of Guarantee (LOG) or any private health insurance details and payment where needed (cash, cheque, credit or debit card).
You are required to sign a consent form during registration.
Your Doctor is responsible for ensuring you are adequately informed of the proposed procedure rules and complication.
You should speak with the doctor prior to and after your procedure, if you have any further questions.
